Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Art Book is a hardcover art book published past Cook & Becker. This book showcases the visual history of the Sonic the Hedgehog series from 1991 to 2016, containing blueprint sketches, official illustrations, in-game sprites, promotional fine art, and box art. The book also contains never-before-seen artwork,[ii] and features interviews with key designers and artists who have worked on the series, including Yuji Naka, Takashi Iizuka, Kazuyuki Hoshino and Yuji Uekawa.
The book was originally set to be released in April 2017, but was delayed to May 2017 as the volume did non run across quality standards.[3] It was further delayed until June 2017 when the 2d printing did non meet the quality standards either, and the publisher had to switch to a new printer.[ane] Separate Standard Editions and special Collector's Editions were fabricated available during the release.[four]
Due to supplies of the book starting to run out in early 2019, instead of simply reprinting the book, Cook & Becker decided to create an updated version with 30-2 extra pages titled Sonic the Hedgehog Fine art & Pattern Book.[5] It was fabricated available in tardily 2019, and contained material from the three master Sonic games released since the release of the original volume.
